My friend has been really rude over the past couple of months, her birthday is coming up should I…?
Take her out for her birthday or send a happy birthday text?
By rude I mean, I begged my parents to let her live with us when she was down and out but due to her flaky, unhelpful, and selfish ways, my parents asked her to leave. Her attitude has been real snobby for a while but she is one of those clingy friends that you just can’t get to leave you alone. My birthday was in December and I told her NOT TO get me anything. Due to the fact that I personally do not care for birthday celebrations or things like that. In fact, I just wanted to hang out with other girls. Yet, she asked me to go out with her for lunch (7 times resending the same text). I said ok, we get to the resturant and she says it is all on her. She also says, since it is all on her and she is on a budget, that we should share an entree. At that point, I wanted to offer to pay for separate meals but didn’t want to make her feel bad. But I started to feel bad knowing that she probably didnt really have it. So she ordered her favorite meal and we shared. I thought it was nice, however weird that was. But then she asked the waiter to surprise me with a cake also. Now I know all of this sounds very nice and I thanked her for going out of her way to do this because she didnt have to.
This still does not excuse her cursing me out, disrespecting my family, using my house as a hotel, and being flaky. We havent talked since the end of December when my parents asked her to leave (she got mad). But this is a GROWN WOMAN we are talking about, not a teenager. She has a lot of issues and I really do not want to be friends with her anymore.
Her birthday is coming up and I feel obligated to return the favor and take her out to dinner. Of course this time I would let her get whatever she wanted etc. But it really is not about that, what it is about is the fact that I DO NOT like her attitude and it is not just me. Because the moment we go out, she will resume the friendship and want to hang out and go back to the drama filled friendship from before.
What should I do?

Is it legal to live in the wilderness of Colorado?
I want to live primitively in the rockies of colorado but i dont want to buy land or any of that. i just want to go out and live the way my ancesstors did long ago. hunting and fishing for food and making my own shelter and clothes, etc. what laws would i have to follow or are there any?
as far as i know, you can on camping ground (if fees apply, you must pay them) but elsewhere in an undesignated area no because it’s government property and you aren’t a paying tenant.

Actually there are books on this stuff. But I would look more towards Montana. There is more space than Colorado for government land. That means more land to lose yourself in. Go to www.miltiaof montana.com and look at the survival books they sell. There was a guy that posted here a few months back that did it for a couple of years and was giving advice out. I will try to find the link if I can.

You have to follow the same laws if you were living in a town or city. You either have to own the land or get permission from the landowner. As far as fishing and hunting, you would need to get licenses and follow the seasons.

Can I charge a fee to give yoga classes in an outdoor public place?
For instance, if I wanted to teach in a park or in a public place like the city’s waterfront. Would I need a permit of some sort? Detailed answers helpful! Thank you!
What if I call them "Donations Appreciated" so it’s technically not a business?
You have to check with your state and city’s Parks and Recreation department. I have taught classes that I charge for in California in State parks but had to get a permit. I have also taught classes in city parks that I taught for free or donations with out a permit. If you do not have a business license you will need to take donations and not charge a fee. You will also have to let anyone take the class weather they donate or not. Where I live there are a few parks that have tennis courts, running clubs, and work out groups. They are all open to the public so you do not need a permit because it is just like getting friend together and exercising at a public park. You really should check with you city. You should also have a waiver for people to sign weather you teach for free or a fee. You do not want to be liable if someone hurt themselves. Good Luck!

I think it was used on Cold Case recently. One of the best things about that show is the music tracks. They always match the music so well to the time period they are focusing on. But I’m sorry I don’t remember exactly which episode but I’m sure it was Cold Case. And it was this season.

My dog hasn't eaten in 3 days, what should I do?
I have a 9 year old boxer/lab mix that hasn’t been herself lately. The past few months she hasn’t been eating her normal amount of food. About two weeks ago, she started vomiting a lot.
Last Saturday, I was out of town, and my mother took her to the emergency vet because she hadn’t eaten in a few days, was vomiting up her water, and had bloody diarrhea. The vet said she was dehydrated and put a water pack in her back. They ran some blood work and did an abdominal x-ray. Nothing showed up, other than her pancreas was inflamed. The vet wanted to keep her overnight to hook her up to an IV, but my mom decided against it (mainly because she thought the dog would be more comfortable at home). They gave her an antibiotic to give her every 12 hours. They told my mom to wait 12 hours to give her water. If she kept that down, we could feed her a bland diet of hamburger and rice every 4 hours.
She kept her water down and was eating regularly until Wednesday. On Thursday, my dad took her to our regular vet for me (I couldn’t get out of work), and the vet said she was still dehydrated and she has pancreatitis. He told him to keep giving her the antibiotic the other vet gave us and also gave us another one. He also told my dad to give her an antacid every night at bedtime.
She still wouldn’t eat Thursday night or yesterday. She is very lethargic and only gets off the couch or chair to go outside. We can bring her water dish to her, and she will drink. She turns her head at food and starts to gag when we bring food to her, though. My sister and I got her to eat two pieces of meat, but that’s not enough. Her eyes are still very animated, though. She barks when someone comes in the door, and she wags her tail when we talk to her. I just don’t know how much longer she can go without eating or what to do.
The emergency vet told my mom last week that the next step is an ultrasound. I talked to our vet, and he told me that he couldn’t get us one until later next week, but he deals with the emergency vet and the emergency vet suggested we go there. I called to make an appointment, and they told me they needed a referral. With the referral, they can’t take her until Monday. The only way we could possibly get one sooner is to admit her to the emergency room again, but they can’t guarantee us one.
I’m just at a loss here. I love this dog. I’ve had her since I was 14, and she was only 5 weeks old. I don’t want to see her starve herself. Is there anything I can do?
She normally eats Iams Large Breed. She has eaten it all her life.

Ask your vet to do an ACTH test for Addisons Disease. It’s a difficult disease to diagnose and the ACTH is the only definitive test for it.
I had a sheltie that developed this and what you’re describing sounds like the symptoms she had.

You don’t say what type of food she normally has to eat. She could possibly be allergic to something in her normal diet, e.g. wheat, and this could be causing her pancreas to flare up.
If she was my dog I would be inclined to keep her on either plain chicken or fish with rice for a while and also give her some plain probiotic yoghurt to allow her gut to settle. After a week or so of the bland diet you could re-introduce her regular food, maybe change her on to another grain free food and see if this helps.
Keep ensuring that she has plenty of water to prevent her from becoming dehydrated.
She may accept the chicken and rice more readily than what you are feeding her now and this would aid her recovery.
I do hope she will be alright. I just wish I could help more. Good luck with her.
